Shield me from the faithful, rich
—in options, positive-thinkers
—bright and blessed
and thoroughly socialized
Hide me from their glancing looks
—their smiling discomfort and
desperate need to be wise and patient

Leave me
outside the camp
—at peace with Jesus
and the disdain of the world
